Long Shank

Long Shank feet have a distance of 1 inch (2.5mm) from centre of screw hole to bottom of foot.

They are generally found on older machines.

The Long Shank cording foot is available with a single hole only. It is a generic foot which will fit most machines, contact Erica with details of your machine before ordering.

Short shank ankle shown

Shown here is the clip on foot and the ankle part which it clips on to.

If your machine usually takes clip on feet, then the ankle part is already screwed on to your sewing machine. You need to remove it to fit other long shank feet.

If your machine usually takes long shank screw on feet, then you could buy a long shank ankle for £7 which will then enable you to fit clip on feet to your machine. These are smaller to store, much easier to change over and as this is the most common type of fitting, many more different types of feet are available.
