Introduction
I do almost equal amounts of sewing and knitting and often combine the
two. Sometimes I make a garment like a sweatshirt or a T-shirt from bought
fabric and then knit bands and cuffs to match on my machine.
My sewing machine, a Bernina 730 is over 30 years old and has no stretch
stitches on it, so I use a 2.5mm
twin needle for all my seams. I set the machine to do a straight
stitch, and sew - the seam produced stretches and is really neat. I like
to topstitch the hems and neckbands with a 4mm
twin needle which gives a really professional finish. |
